Job Title: HR Manager
Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Manager to join our dynamic team. As an HR Manager, you will play a crucial role in the People Department and ensuring the smooth functioning of various HR processes. This position is perfect for someone with 2-4 years of experience in HR who is looking to further develop their skills and contribute to a growing organization.
Responsibilities:
  1. Employee Life Cycle and Engagement:
    • Support HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs, performance management, and employee relations issues
    • Partner with the management team to provide guidance on proper performance management, disciplinary action, and terminations
    • Assists with the ideation and implementation of employee satisfaction and appreciation initiatives
    • Process HR-related requests, such as employment verifications, and employee inquiries.
  2. Onboarding and Orientation:
    • Coordinate new employee onboarding activities, including paperwork, orientation sessions, and training schedules.
    • Coordinates with IT for all new-hire account setup.
    • Prepare and distribute employee handbooks and other relevant materials.
    • Ensure a smooth transition for new employees by addressing their questions and providing necessary support.
  3. Employee Records and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate employee records, including personal information, attendance, and performance evaluations.
    • Update and file employee documentation related to promotions, transfers, and terminations.
    • Assist in the preparation of HR reports, metrics, and statistical analysis as required.
  4. Payroll Support:
    • Support the finance team in reviewing employee timecards in collaboration with the management team to ensure compliance and accurate timekeeping
    • Attend bi-weekly payroll calls to assist in addressing any concerns or corrections needed ahead of payroll reports
    • Review final payroll reports to help ensure a timely submission of the payroll for the club locations
  5. Benefits and LOA:
    • Support team members with LOA inquiries, questions, and requests as needed
    • Initiating and monitoring the interactive process during an employee’s leave of absence including leave and return dates, check-ins, and working with the company’s 3rd party broker regarding any paid leave
    • Support benefits administration by providing new full-time employees with information on timely benefit elections, as well as providing support and assistance during the open enrollment process
  6. Compliance and Policy Adherence:
    • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in HR practices.
    • Assist in policy development and dissemination, ensuring employees understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
    • Support HR audits and assist in implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  7. Recruitment Support:
    • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews as needed.
    • Coordinate with hiring managers to facilitate candidate assessments and background checks.
    • Maintain applicant tracking system and ensure candidate data is accurately recorded
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or HR Certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role for 1-2 years.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking software. Experience with Paycor a plus.
  • Experience in various state specific labor and employment laws, including California.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
