Palm Beach Health Network - Tenet is seeking a Histology Technologist for a job in Riviera Beach, Florida.

Job Type: Part Time

Receives and accurately processes surgical, diagnostic tissue, or body fluid specimens from various hospital departments and physician offices.  Accurately prepares histological slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Pathologist, Identifies, prepares, cuts, stains and preserves specimens in such a manner as assist the pathologist to render a reliable diagnosis.  Maintains Pathology laboratory equipment and supplies. 

Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 
  • Histologic Technician/Technologist certification 
  • Successfully completed an accredited clinical lab training program in Histo technology 
  • One year experience 
  • Current Histologic Technician/Technologist registration and Florida license 

Desired: Specialized or job related course work after high school, up to 12 months

Minimum Experience

1 year experience 

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Basic computer skills 
  • Use of Pathology specific equipment and reagents  
  • Transcribe a minimum of 55 W.P.M.
