Position Purpose:

The Recovery Supervisor oversees daily recovery operations, supervises Recovery Technicians, andโ€ฏensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. In partnership with Recovery leadership, this role supports staff development, process improvements, team training, and a positive, mission-driven culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete ocular tissue procurements, including donor history review, assessments, blood collection, tissue recovery, and accurate documentation in the eye bank database.
  • Train and onboard new recovery technicians through shadowing and hands-on training in ocular tissueโ€ฏprocurement procedures while maintaining designated trainer competency.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily operational issues and technician support across the territory, including participation in the Administratorโ€ฏOnโ€ฏCall (AOC) rotations for both Technician Logistics andโ€ฏDonor Logistics to provide after-hours operational support as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EBAA, FDA,โ€ฏHIPAAโ€ฏand all federal and state regulations, including completion of annual competency reviews.
  • Support quality and compliance through timely QA reporting, investigations and accurate operational documentation.
  • Develop andโ€ฏmaintainโ€ฏstaff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and manage employee timekeeping, attendance, time sheet approval, and PTO monitoring.โ€ฏ
  • Leadโ€ฏmonthlyโ€ฏteamโ€ฏmeetings,โ€ฏandโ€ฏroutineโ€ฏone-on-oneโ€ฏ(O3)โ€ฏmeetingsโ€ฏwithโ€ฏrecoveryโ€ฏtechnicians.โ€ฏ
  • Partner with the Recovery Manager on providing input on performance feedback, recognition, and corrective actions.โ€ฏ
