Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for possessing a high level of knowledge of installing and inspecting tires on tractors and trailers as well as mounting, dismounting and patching tires. Responsible for ensuring tire inventory is up to date and tires are well stocked, drive sets are made and the trailer rack is full. This position is a subject matter expert and/or team lead with indirect management responsibilities, indirectly overseeing tire operations for larger facilities. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install tires on tractors and trailers using company guidelines
  • Observe all Company safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned
  • May oversee or mentor junior team members as needed
  • Repair and patch tires
  • Keep sets of tires on hand and maintain trailer rack; order tires as needed
  • Load bad tires into trailer for removal
  • Perform tire yard checks on equipment
  • Inspect and mark tires for serviceability or warranty
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and keep tire machines and supplied tools organized and free of defected
  • Organize and maintain daily tire inventory; keep tire inventory up to date and well stocked
  • Mount and dismount tires on rims using proper safety procedures

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education; ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
  • Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations. Employees without their own tools may obtain them through toolbox purchase program.
