This position will be available at the Washington Works site in **Parkersburg, WV** and report directly to the Polymers Manufacturing Technology Manager.This role will serve as a Chemical Engineer in the Polymers operations at Washington Works. The individual will provide overall Chemical Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance, and Technology Teams in the Polymers Area. This will entail involvement in day-to-day troubleshooting in the plant, as well as support for improvement programs in the areas of yield, uptime, reliability, cost, safety, new capital installations, etc.Individual unit operations include but are not limited to: reactors, pumps, piping, tanks, dryers, heat exchangers, filtration, scrubbing, extrusion, etc.**The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:*** Act as a Chemical Engineering resource* Recommend and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement* Assist with recommendations for day-to-day troubleshooting* Lead and participate in incident investigations* Participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA)* Lead capital projects for various improvements* Provide environmental support* Travel requirements are less than 10%**The following is *required* for this role:*** BS in Chemical Engineering* Demonstrated basic knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e. pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration machines, etc.)* Good Oral and Written skills* Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.* Two years or more of engineering experience**The following is *preferred* for this role:*** Five years or more of experience in a chemical manufacturing process* Experience leading/participating in Process Hazards Analyses* Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Certification**Benefits:**Competitive CompensationComprehensive Benefits Packages401(k) MatchEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramTuition ReimbursementCommuter BenefitsLearning and Development OpportunitiesStrong Inclusion and Diversity InitiativesCompany-paid Volunteer DayWe’re a different kind of chemistry company because we see our people as our biggest assets.
