Job description

Position Title: Supervisor
Primary Location: District Wide; Elementary and Middle Level
Assignment Specifications: 1.5-2 hours per school day, shifts may vary
Group Affiliation/Policy: Educational Assistants
Classification: A-1-1
Hiring Range: $12.72-$14.00/hour
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Building Principal, student supervisors, whether noon hour, lunch, or bus should be alert and watchful of all students at all times. The supervisor will be accountable for the care and safety of all students.
Approximate shift times:
  • Morning
    7:00 am - 7:45 am Elementary / 8:00 am - 8:45 am Middle School 
  • Lunchroom/Playground
    10:30 am - 1:15 pm
  • Afternoon
    2:00 pm - 2:45 pm / 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm Middle School
*The times listed above are approximate times staffing is needed; however some schools vary in lunch or crossing guard patrol times.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be able to physically stand, walk, and move through supervised areas while on duty for the length of the supervision period. Must be pleasant, patient, and positive toward students. Must be alert to the activities of the students, praising and reprimanding where needed. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with staff and members of the public with sensitivity and tact.  Must have a demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituencies in a positive manner and the ability to work independently and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
