Role Description: The Project Engineer must have 3+ years of experience. As the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting key projects from inception to completion. These projects may include plant remodels, new plant or warehouse construction, redesigning existing manufacturing lines, installing new production lines, focused improvement (FI) initiatives, and detailed cost-saving projects.

The Project Engineer leverages process engineering principles to drive improvements in methods, manpower, machinery, and materials.

Essential Functions:

- Manage assigned projects, including resources, budgets, forecasting, schedules, integration, installation, start-up, and closure, ensuring successful execution from concept to completion.

- Facilitate the project management process by defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

- Develop and maintain project timelines and schedules.

- Prepare and present progress reports, identify challenges, and propose solutions.

- Ensure that equipment, materials, and project outcomes meet anticipated quality standards, including adherence to sanitary design requirements.

- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement real-time solutions.

- Participate in budget development and forecasting activities.

- Assist in the design and layout of plants and manufacturing lines, as well as the evaluation of new or modified equipment.

- Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders, including contractors, corporate and plant cross-functional teams, and management.

- Analyze processes to identify preferred methods that reduce labor costs, increase productivity, minimize operational variances, enhance product quality, and optimize overhead utilization.

- Recommend and implement improvements such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflows, relocating workstations and equipment, or procuring new equipment.

- Establish and execute projects focused on cost reduction, material flow, and process improvement, ensuring measurable results upon completion.

- Evaluate workforce utilization, facility layouts, and operational data (e.g., production costs, process flowcharts, and schedules) to optimize worker and equipment efficiency.

- Develop management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, and wage and job evaluations.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

- Strong understanding of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.

- Solid electrical and mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment.

- Process-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams.

- Customer-focused approach with a proven ability to negotiate effectively and deliver positive results.

- Ability to travel within the United States as required.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

- A minimum of 3 years of project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Preferred experience in the food, beverage, dairy, or brewery industries.

- Lean or Six Sigma Certification is preferred.

- PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred
