Job description

Engineering Analytics, Inc., is now part of MacKay, and we are looking for a full-time Senior Project Engineer to join our Water Resources team and lead critical Dam and water infrastructure projects while expanding our footprint in New Mexico.
The team provides expertise in executing projects related to dam design and rehabilitation, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for dam and river projects, flood mapping, spillway design, and more.
We offer a comfortable, collaborative work environment with flexible work arrangements.
Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering review and analysis - review project scope, technical reports, and perform independent design analyses and review of construction documents. Hydrologic, hydraulic, structural, and geotechnical analyses may be required to assess and verify the condition of dams and/or their proposed repairs or modifications.
  • Water Resources Infrastructure Inspections - Inspect water resource structures to verify that they are operated and maintained in a safe manner to protect life, property and the environment.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and contracts.
  • Supervise and mentor project engineers and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with local governments, water users, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with water management and safety regulations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university with coursework in fluid mechanics, hydraulics, open channel flow, soil mechanics, structural analysis, reinforced concrete and steel design
  • 10 years' relevant experience in a similar role and building a book of business; relationships with local agencies are a plus.
  • Registered P.E. in New Mexico
  • An extensive understanding of engineering principles, water infrastructure systems, and regulatory frameworks at the state, federal, and local levels is required.
  • Advanced expertise in project management, budgeting, and strategic planning is essential for overseeing large-scale water projects.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing complex, multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects on time and within budget is critical. Strong problem-solving, high-level communication, and negotiation abilities are necessary for engaging stakeholders and ensuring project success.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership, develop talent, and foster cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment is vital. Must be able to adapt to evolving regulations and priorities, drive innovation and make sound decisions under pressure to achieve organizational goals.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience leading a team
  • MS in Geotechnical engineering, hydrologic or hydraulic engineering sub-specialty is a plus.
  • FERC part 12 review, PFMA analysis, and facilitation experience or equivalent risk analysis experience.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.
US Pay Range
$130,000-$160,000 USD
Full-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options. MacKay pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual performance bonuses.
