SUMMARY:
The Line Cook prepares and plates high-quality meals that meet the chef’s exact specifications and works at specific stations in the kitchen, such as grill, sauté, or frier. They are responsible for assembling ingredients, prepping food, and plating dishes with a limited amount of time. Line cooks monitor their station and stock it with necessary supplies. Other responsibilities include ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are maintained, managing multiple orders simultaneously and coordinating with other kitchen staff on the timely delivery of each dish. Other duties as assigned. The starting rate for this role is $20.00 per hour.
SHIFTS / NIGHT WORK / AVAILABILITY/ WORKING CONDITIONS ETC:
Ability to work a flexible scheduling including nights and weekends required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1+ year experience in a similar role
  • Certificate in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8-hour shifts

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the core functions of the position, you are usually indoors, in a confined kitchen environment, but may also be rostered to work outdoors in a natural and variable environment. The position can also involve regularly moving between warm (kitchen) and cold (cool room) locations. Moderate machine and crowd noise levels exist in the working environment.
