Job description

John Tillman Company, a division of Bunzl, is seeking a Production Worker for our warehouse in Fairfield. The Production Worker will perform all tasks involved in the production of the company’s products while following the standard work methods, practicing safe work habits and ensuring production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Monday - Friday, day shift (overtime based on business need)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain basic knowledge of the operation of production equipment
  • Read and complete work orders accurately
  • Process work orders in production system
  • Identify and troubleshoot common production problems
  • Maintain and clean equipment for continued proper operation; notify management of any maintenance or repairs required
  • Always maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • Perform tasks in an efficient and productive manner

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience operating a reach truck is preferred
  • Consistent heavy lifting; ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs. at times with or without reasonable accommodations
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time while reaching with hands and arms for an entire shift
    • Specific vision abilities include sharp vision, focus, depth perception and working with smaller components 
    • Attention to detail, quality and accuracy
    • Ability to read, write and comprehend complex written or oral instructions and correspondence in English
    • Ability to perform common mathematical skills, such as multiplying in dozens or calculating print rates
    • Effectively teach and cross-train other employees, as needed
