Job description

Join the Cherokee Brick Team

Cherokee Brick & Tile Company is seeking an experienced Electrician to help keep our manufacturing equipment operating safely and efficiently. If you enjoy troubleshooting industrial equipment, solving problems, and working in a team-oriented environment, we'd like to hear from you.


What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, motors, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, control panels, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Install, wire, test, and commission new electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Diagnose equipment failures using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and documentation.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and participate in scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable electrical codes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial electrical systems preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Licensed Electrician preferred, but not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Work Environment

This position works in an industrial manufacturing environment and requires the ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, working at heights, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds (heavier lifting with assistance), and working around heat, dust, noise, moving equipment, and electrical systems while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Schedule

Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins may be required based on operational needs.
