Press Operator, 1st Shift, Plant 1

BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Press Operator to be located in Crossville, TN. Reporting to the Press Supervisor.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform quality inspection of tile and report defects. 
  • Communicate defects on the containment board and to the next shift. 
  • Operate two presses and two dryers if necessary. 
  • Clean presses at the end of the shift and underneath roller tables. 
  • Wash dies as needed. 
  • Obtain green samples and check tile thickness to ensure tile is in spec. 
  • Assist other operators as needed. 
  • Assist mechanics as needed. 
  • Complete 5S, LPAs, and 30-minute check sheets, and any other necessary paperwork. 
  • Use Gemba board to effectively communicate issues. 
  • Recognize issues with production and correct or notify appropriate employees. 
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, Supervisors, and other Departments. 
  • Work on Kaizen for continuous improvement. 
  • Follow safety guidelines and company standards, utilizing Personal Protection Equipment as required. 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace. 
  • Perform any other duties that may be required or assigned. 

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees, management, and vendors
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Must be able to work holidays. 
    • Must be available to work overtime as necessary and work other shifts as necessary, may be called in during abnormal hours
    • Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check

    • Frequent climbing, bending, standing, walking at a brisk pace 8+ hours a day, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling
    • Occasional lifting 80 pounds, either alone or with the assistance of another employee, in conformity with lifting techniques detailed in safety policies and training materials
