Deck Tile Setter We have an exciting opportunity for Deck Tile Setters at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine for with one of our Clients in the Ship Repair Industry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Must hold active security clearance
* Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience performing decking resurfacing on commercial or U.S. Navy ships or submarines.
* Must be trained and proficient in the installation of at least three types of the following deck surfaces: linoleum, deck tile, ceramic tile, epoxy finishes, and ablative tiles.
* Must be capable of performing all aspects of deck installation, including surface preparation, layout, adhesive selection, and understanding decking material characteristics.
* Must have OSHA 10
* Be proficient in the use of powered trade equipment, including cutters and cement or epoxy mixing machines.
* Repair, remove, and reinstall shipboard deck surfaces such as linoleum, deck tile, ceramic tile, epoxy finishes, and ablative tiles.
* Use powered equipment to template, cut, and pre-fabricate decking materials for installation.
* Prepare surfaces, lay out materials, select appropriate adhesives, and perform deck-type-specific installations.
* Maintain safe and compliant work practices in accordance with OSHA and shipyard standards.
HOURS: * May work 8,10 or 12 hours shifts determined by the project. PAY: * $30 Hr +
