Warehouse Technician & Delivery Specialist – Class B CDL

AVS Flooring is looking for a dependable, organized, and hardworking Warehouse & Delivery Specialist to join our team.


This is a full-time, on-site position combining warehouse operations, order preparation, receiving, forklift operation, inventory-related administrative work, and local deliveries. This is not an over-the-road driving position. Deliveries are mainly local and scheduled based on customer and job needs, and the employee will be home daily.


The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in keeping a warehouse organized, can work independently, communicates well with the rest of the team, and is willing to take ownership of making sure materials are received, staged, and ready when our installation crews and customers need them.


Key Responsibilities


  • Receive and unload flooring and material deliveries using a forklift.
  • Inspect incoming shipments and place materials in their correct warehouse locations.
  • Pull and stage flooring orders for upcoming installation crews.
  • Prepare retail customer orders in advance so they are ready for pickup and loading.
  • Assist customers and installation crews with loading materials.
  • Keep flooring organized by customer, job, product, or designated warehouse location.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse, including removing debris, trash, packaging, and unnecessary materials.
  • Maintain flooring plank displays so customers can easily walk through and view flooring selections.
  • Identify excess materials remaining from jobs and coordinate eligible returns with vendors.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding return authorizations and material pickups.
  • Receive incoming materials into QuickBooks so company records accurately reflect what has arrived.
  • Help match received materials to the appropriate purchase order, customer, or job.
  • Notify the team of materials received each week and communicate shortages, damaged products, incorrect shipments, or other issues.
  • Safely operate a forklift for unloading, loading, organizing, and moving flooring products.
  • Make scheduled local deliveries using the company Freightliner truck.
  • Properly load and secure flooring and other materials before deliveries.
  • Communicate with the office and installation teams to help ensure upcoming jobs and customer orders are prepared on time.


Qualifications


  • Valid Class B CDL or ability to obtain the required CDL before beginning driving responsibilities.
  • Current forklift certification required.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Experience safely operating a forklift in a warehouse environment.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and handling flooring materials.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, move, and handle heavy flooring products and supplies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Dependable and able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Comfortable using a computer for basic administrative tasks.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is preferred but not required; training can be provided.
  • Good communication skills when working with coworkers, installation crews, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and prepare orders according to upcoming installation and delivery schedules.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Previous warehouse, delivery, flooring, construction-material, or CDL experience is a plus.
