Job description

Abel Drainage & Excavating is a small family-owned and operated company looking for laborers. We are interested in hard working, self-motivated individuals who are not afraid of getting dirty.

As a laborer you will be helping with tile repairs and installations, assisting with tree and building demos, excavations and other labor support, as well as other tasks as assigned.

Clean driving record and valid driver license is a must.

CDL and/or Heavy Equipment experience is a plus, but not required.

Pay based on experience.

Job Status: Full Time

Location: Based out of Greenville. We served Clay and surrounding counties.

Work Schedule: Usually 7am start. Lots of potential for overtime (10, 12 hour days) Stop time depends on work load for the day.

Job Overview: Fit, strong individual to perform a variety of physical tasks. Able to perform a wide variety of tasks that require stamina and eagerness to learn on the jobs. A good Labor Support person is able to understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within a given deadline.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Help equipment operators and other skilled labor when necessary
  • Prep site by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Load and unload materials (pipe, etc.)
  • Digging holes by hand
  • Getting down in holes to connect drainage tile utilizing safe work tactics
  • Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding
  • Follow instructions from supervisors
  • Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
  • Perform site clean-up
  • Other tasks as assigned (i.e. shop clean up etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Worker must be punctual and reliable
