Job description

General Summary:

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintenance and upkeep on all College buildings (interior and exterior). Also for helping maintain all HVAC units, welding, repairing and mowing equipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Functions

  1. Maintain the College of the Muscogee Nation’s buildings and property.
  2. Minor repair of electric, plumbing, carpentry, floor tile, cement, and concrete work.
  3. Will assist with general lawn care.
  4. Other duties range from changing lights, adjusting temperature, moving and assembling furniture, checking on phones, running cable, and other duties as required by supervisor.
  5. Keep accurate records of daily routines.
  6. Must maintain a professional personal appearance at all times.
  7. Shall exercise good public relations with patrons, students and employees.
  8. Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and HVAC problems.
  9. Repair indoor and outdoor furniture, welding would be an asset.
  10. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Shall perform all other duties as assigned

Tribal College Functions

Job Specifications:

1. Monitor all college buildings, including workstations, restrooms, student housing and corridors.

2. Able to follow instructions.

3. Will make simple written notations on daily duties performed.

4. Enjoy working in a public setting that has a variety of work spaces for administration,

instructors and students.

Minimum Requirements - High School Diploma or GED equivalent with three years experience using power tools, lawn care, and general knowledge of building construction.

Preferred Requirements – Three years of HVAC and welding experience. Ability to speak the Muscogee Creek language is preferable but not a requirement. Native American and Veteran preference.

Licensure (if appropriate): Valid Oklahoma Drivers License
