Job description

Mill Creek Lumber and Supply Company is a leading provider of lumber and building materials, serving the construction industry since 1934. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a Granite Installation Helper with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to join our team.  As a helper at Mill Creek, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the smooth operation of our facilities and building supply business. Your primary responsibility will be to support the overall workflow by performing various tasks related to granite installation and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead installer in all aspects of granite countertop installation, including lifting, carrying, and positioning granite pieces.
  • Help prepare job sites by carrying materials, setting up tools, and ensuring the area is clean and organized.
  • Properly handle and operate hand tools and equipment used in granite installation, such as drills, saws, and grinders, under the supervision of the lead installer.
  • Ensure the quality of installations by carefully following instructions, measuring accurately, and paying attention to detail.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
  • Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have during the installation process.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to complete installations efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure precise measurements and accurate installation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Punctuality and dependability are essential for this role.
  • Openness to learning new skills and techniques related to granite installation.
  • While prior experience in granite installation is beneficial, it is not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
