Martin and Son is a specialty contractor with services in residential & commercial flooring, commercial glass, walls & ceilings, doors, hardware & specialties, and millwork & FF&E, along with national retail solutions, including fixture installation. Founded in 1931, the fourth-generation company works nationwide from its headquarters in Green Bay, WI.
Position Description
Position Description: We are seeking a talented Interior Designer to work in our Green Bay, WI showroom. Primary responsibilities include working with residential customers to guide flooring and shower door selections and see the design process through to final installation.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Utilize design skills to ultimately lead to sales of H.J. Martin and Son products and services
  • Specialize in all types of floor covering including carpet, hardwood, tile, vinyl, natural stone and area rugs
  • Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person
  • Understand product lines, warranties, and installation guidelines
  • Comprehend job specific material quantities, labor rates, and productivity rates
  • Source and develop relationships with general contractors, retail customers, architects, and designers
  • Participate in trade shows outside of regularly scheduled hours
  • Consistently provide a high level of enthusiastic customer service

Other Duties As Assigned: Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.
Position Requirements
Experience/Education Required:
  • Sales and customer service experience
  • Associates degree in Interior Design (two-year)
  • Microsoft Office efficiency (specifically Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Bachelors degree in Interior Design, or related degree
  • CAD experience preferred, but not required
  • Floor covering related experience
