Status: This is a full-time; hourly position
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 5am -3:30pm & Friday: 5am - 10am; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: This role is responsible for unloading the shot saw cars and loading multiple automated finish lines with the correct granite slabs based on production needs.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Monitor the condition of slabs by identifying location of cracks and breaks, ensuring they can be safely handled and moved.
  • Load stones into correct face finishing line as required per job specifications.
  • Mark each stone slab with the job number and type of finish.
  • Locate stone that is stored outside for production use.
  • Coordinate set up of color matching from multiple blocks with the Stock Coordinator.
  • Manage excess physical inventory of slabs.
  • Inspect slab to confirm that it will meet the size requirements of the production ticket.
  • Bundle stone to be stored outside.
  • Operate forklift to move granite stones and slabs as needed; requires getting in and out of the forklift multiple times per shift.
  • Scan granite stone and slabs into JDE system to maintain inventory records.
  • Understand and utilize the color flagging system to determine work priority.
  • Apply production tickets to granite slabs according to customer requirements.
  • Drill and retag slab inventory when necessary.
  • Use scanners and computer to look up inventory in the JDE system.
  • Will work indoors and outdoors.
Requirements
  • Must obtain forklift certification (training and certification provided by Coldspring for all employees who may be required to operate a forklift).
  • Ability to judge distances, heights, weights and surroundings (machines, personnel and other vehicles) to safely operate crane.
  • General knowledge of stone tolerances to ensure safe movement of stone within the production areas.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • General math skills.
  • Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
  • Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
