Job description

Position Summary

The Capital Markets Associate is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of capital markets transactions — including securitizations, whole loan sales, whole loan purchases and related capital markets activities. This role serves as the central point of coordination between internal teams and external counterparties, ensuring each transaction is executed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with company strategy, policies, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented project manager with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact transactions and build strong relationships across the capital markets ecosystem.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deal Management
    • Lead and coordinate the full lifecycle of capital markets transactions — from mandate through closing and post-closing.
    • Develop and manage transaction timelines, ensuring all deliverables and milestones are met.
    • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for all internal and external transaction parties, including structuring teams, legal, accounting, operations, rating agencies, trustees, and investors.
    • Oversee due diligence, data requests, and document preparation.
    • Track key issues and open items, proactively drive resolution, and escalate as appropriate.
    • Prepare closing checklists, coordinate document execution, and manage funding and settlement logistics.
    • Manage post-closing processes, including data verification, investor reporting setup, and audit support.
  • Coordination
    • Partner with internal teams such as Legal, Treasury, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Accounting to ensure alignment and readiness for deal execution.
    • Interface with external counsel, underwriters, rating agencies, and other transaction partners to coordinate deliverables and communications.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with key market participants and counterparties.
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Support the review of transaction documents (offering materials, purchase agreements, trust agreements, etc.) with internal and external counsel.
    • Ensure consistency and accuracy across documentation, approvals, and transaction summaries.
    • Maintain compliance with internal policies, governance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate internal approval processes and maintain transaction records and data repositories.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to streamline transaction execution, improve coordination, and enhance reporting.
    • Develop and maintain standardized procedures, templates, and best practices for deal management.

Required Experience, Skills, & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in capital markets, structured finance, investment banking, or related fields.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills; able to handle multiple transactions concurrently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; able to clearly summarize status and priorities.
  • Comfortable coordinating across disciplines and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
  • Familiarity with capital markets documentation and deal structures.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $70,000-$90,000. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors. CoreVest also offers a competitive benefit package including discretionary corporate bonus program, multiple health plans, STD and LTD options, company sponsored life insurance, fitness reimbursement, paid parental leave, time to volunteer, Paid Time off, ESPP, and 401K matching.
