Role Summary: The Sales Supervisor is an essential part of the Threshold team and guest experience every day. You are responsible for greeting customers as they arrive to Threshold and aid in all pro-shop, sales, and team related duties. You are a part of every area of the facility including products, community, operations, and people. The Sales Supervisor takes initiative, has strong assessment skills and is agile in adapting to the ebbs and flows of day-to-day business. You work directly with managers on sales goals, and report to the owners. The Sales Supervisor cultivates supportive relationships by making themselves accessible and approachable, ensuring accountability and progress of all Threshold sales needs, while always embodying Threshold values.
Examples of Work Performed: Welcome people into the facility with efficiency and efficacy. Ensure all visitor agreements and proper documentation of certifications is up to date. Conduct orientation of the facility and work each day to build the highest quality experience possible for our members and guests. Working the front desk and all forms of communication with customers including phone calls, emails, social media promotional materials, and regular inspection of facility and retail shops to ensure cleanliness. Confidently answering questions about all Threshold programs offered including but not limited to youth programs fitness and yoga programs and climbing classes. Understanding accounts, and the ability to process specific sales and correct minor account errors that will arise. Effectively communicate account errors and collect payments from negative account balances and reporting them to the rest of the management team. The ability to lead sales and communicate goals and objectives with the Threshold team.
Essential Job Duties:
- Opening and closing duties
- Supervise and manage day-to-day operations
- Build an effective sales team and implement a well-defined sales strategy
- Create and track key performance indicators and maintain accountability of sales performance
- Coaching staff on effective upselling and cross-training techniques
- Maintain ongoing product knowledge training with staff
- Lead the team in preparing the store for the day including replenishing gear and other merchandise by color, size, and quantity requirements; folding, sizing, merchandising, and changing mannequins as needed to maximize sell-through
- Answer store phones and respond to voicemails and store email account as needed
- Utilize Mindbody (point of sales system), process payments and issue gift cards
- Educate all guests on Threshold programs including events, leagues, competitions, classes, memberships, team, and services, etc.
- Proactively gather feedback related to guest/member experiences
- Receive and process stock involving unpacking, counting, tagging as needed, folding, sizing, and placing on the floor, with overflow stock in storage areas
- Unpack boxes for inventory as needed (boxes can weigh up to 50lbs)
- Receive, process, restock + destock, and visual merchandising including for all Threshold related events
- Expected to be available to work “Black Friday” (the day after US Thanksgiving) and from the second week of December (the start of the second week in period 11) until the end of the holiday season
- Expert with all discounts, sales, promos, and inventory needs of the Company
- Under the direction of the owners you perform/complete other added projects, duties, and assignments as needed and/or by request
- Works alongside staff to complete tasks which improve the member experience
- Track all Shipping / Receiving of incoming / outgoing packages
- Understand and efficiently navigate Mindbody (MBO) software to sign visitors in and process other front desk transactions
- At all times, be respectful and compliant with corporate rules, policies, and procedures in addition to management direction, as stated in the Employee Handbook
Employment Standards - Education, Skills, & Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Business degree preferred
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience
- A passion for customer service and delivering an exceptional experience to members and guests
- Integrates fun and joy as a way of being and working
- Communicates with honesty and kindness and creates a space for others to do the same
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Availability must reflect the needs of the business, which may change from time-to-time. The Manager determines the availability needs, and this schedule could include a combination of shift times, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to work with all age groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications
- Extremely thorough, dedicated, detail-oriented and committed to Threshold’s overall success
- SafeSport Certification required
- CPR/Infant/AED/Basic First Aid certification required
Physical Activity Requirements: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching standing, walking, pulling talking hearing, listening and repetitive motion. Lifting 50lbs regularly. Work environment is primarily indoor (climate-controlled) but can include washing/disinfecting holds outside in all seasons.
