What You’ll Do 

As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll report to the Director or Manager. You will be responsible for delivering critical respiratory care to patients, from routine treatments to emergency interventions. The position collaborates with other professional, clinical and ancillary staff in providing compassionate and quality care to patients. a 

Respiratory Therapist Job Responsibilities 

  • Patient Assessment & Treatment – Evaluate and treat patients with respiratory conditions, optimizing their breathing and pulmonary function. 

  • Emergency Response – React quickly in life-threatening situations, providing essential respiratory interventions. 

  • Ventilator Management – Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients in critical care to ensure optimal respiratory support. 

  • Patient & Family Education – Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatments, and best practices for management. 

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration – Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop effective treatment plans. 

What You Bring 

You bring a high level of knowledge and competency in performing respiratory therapy procedures. As a Respiratory Therapist, your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care.  You demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians and others.  You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.  As a Respiratory Therapist, you have an understanding of the need to be responsive and reasonably adaptable for scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Michigan required 

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in the state of Michigan preferred 

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred 

  • Critical Care or Respiratory Diagnostics experience strongly preferred 

  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
