We are looking for a Safety Coordinator who wants to do more than enforce rules. We want someone who can help shape culture, build trust with employees, strengthen engagement, and lead safety initiatives that make a real impact across the cooperative.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about operational safety, employee development, field engagement, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
  • Lead and strengthen the cooperative's safety culture across all departments
  • Partner with employees and leaders to proactively identify hazards and improve processes
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct field observations, audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Deliver engaging and practical safety training for operational and office employees
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness efforts and support response activities
  • Chair and support Safety Committee initiatives
  • Analyze trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive accountability
  • Serve as a trusted resource and coach for employees and leadership teams

  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and utility safety regulations
  • Strong presentation, communication, investigation, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to completing NRECA Safety Program requirements
