Job description

CNC Operator

The CNC Operator operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC operator loads parts in the machine, cycles machine, and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. CNC operators maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.

Functions:

  • Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
  • Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, and tapping tasks.
  • Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results.
  • Completes and maintains paperwork for parts.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a non-exempt, full-time position (40 hours per week):

  • 1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm
  • 2nd shift: 3:15pm-11:45pm
  • 3rd shift: 11:30pm - 7:15am

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school preferred
  • Proven experience as a CNC operator (2+ YEARS)
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • May be required to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
