Job Description

BME Fire Trucks is seeking skilled Machine Operators with experience. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. Be a part of something that makes a difference in saving lives, homes, and our amazing recreational areas. As a Machine Operator, you will be produce parts by programming, setting up, and operating a variety of CNC machines including laser cutting, plasma cutting, shear cutting, rolling, press brakes, saws, and punches. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining company quality and safety standards while operating equipment and performing job responsibilities.
  • Reading drawings to ensure productions of parts are within tolerance through using various measuring devices such as calipers, protractors, tape measures, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Use of basic hand tools including wrenches, hammers, prybars, grinders, magnets, pliers, etc.



Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Ability to read blueprints of fire truck designs or parts.
  • Operational knowledge of CNC cutting machines, press brakes, drills, and saws.
  • Great attitude and high expectations for the quality of your work. (Our trucks are used in life or death situations and are expected to perform).
  • Physically fit - ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and climb ladders.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure
  • Excellent diagnostic skills
  • Experience with hand and power tools

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment.
  • Able to run one machine in fabrication proficiently with little to no quality defects.
