Inside the Role

Product validation engineer in the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems team. This position will be responsible for vehicle integration and validation of radar and camera based safety systems. The job will consist of test case development, test execution, reporting, and issue resolution. Validation to be performed in testing workshops, on the road, and at test tracks. In addition, it will include work to expand our use of automation and AI to support activities such as data analysis and test documentation.

Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000.00 - $91,000.00 USD

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Plan, organize, and execute test activities on medium to heavy duty truck platform. Primary responsibility will be the development and testing of proprietary safety systems as well as expanding our automated analysis use cases.
  • Develop design verification plans and reports (DVP&R). Identify the objectives and applicable standards, define test cases and test procedures. Execute test plan. Document test results with conclusions and recommendations via informal and formal reports and presentations to engineering management.
  • Advise project leads and manager of project scope, impacts, and timing as it relates to validation efforts and activities for projects.
  • Prioritize assignments consistent with business goals and successfully implement projects on time and within budget. Inform management of project issues, delays, and risks.
  • Proactively interface and coordinate with product design, suppliers, warranty, and other departments in the product development and testing phases. Provide engineering technical assistance to personnel within and outside of the department.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Requires basic understanding of theories, practices, and procedures related to job field
  • Works within standard practices and procedures to analyze information and problems of limited scope
  • Works within standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines
  • Must be able to lead/support electronic integration testing for over the road vehicle tests, including major quarterly road tests.
  • Strong collaboration, speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Basic knowledge with data analysis, summarization, and presentation of results.
  • Some experience leading technical projects.
  • Experience with Vector tools, ADTF, python, or C++.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • An attached resume is required.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems is preferred. Troubleshooting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, test instrumentation, data acquisition/analysis software and testing methodology.
  • Experience with driver assistance systems or automotive radar or camera based safety systems.
  • Knowledge of embedded processor control logic, and ability to program controllers.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • A commercial driver's license, or ability to obtain one within one year of hire, is required.
