Job description


Support the Quality team by creating and implementing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), customer and third-party inspection activities, quality documentation, audit preparation, training coordination, process compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Assurance Specialist serves as the liaison between Project Management, Engineering, Production, Planning, Quality Control, Document Control, customers, and third-party agencies to ensure manufacturing activities comply with customer, regulatory, and NOV Quality Management System requirements
 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing Quality experience.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Experience supporting customer and third-party inspections.
  • Working knowledge of API Q1 and ISO 9001.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn different software programs as required.
  • Knowledge of ABS and DNV requirements for drill through equipment a plus
  • Knowledge of API 6A, 8C, 16A, 16C, 16D, 16F, 16RCD, ATEX, IECEx requirements is a plus

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, revise, and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Periodically Audit ITP development and deployment process to ensure compliance with customer and third-party intervention points
  • Coordinate customer and third-party inspections (ABS, DNV, API, customer representatives).
  • Review work orders and manufacturing routers to ensure quality requirements and the intervention points are correctly incorporated.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, and quality requirements for manufacturing readiness.
  • Coordinate inspection holds points and witness points with Production, Planning, Engineering, and customers.
  • Perform processes and procedures audit
  • Maintain ITP status trackers and monitor completion.
  • Support Quality Engineers in resolving documentation discrepancies.
  • Coordinate Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs) and final quality documentation packages.
  • Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) coordination.
  • Perform source inspections when assigned.
  • Support supplier qualification and supplier audits.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Maintain training assignments and employee qualification records.
  • Coordinate calibration status and inspection equipment records.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with API Q1, ISO 9001, customer requirements, and NOV procedures.
  • Support the Senior Quality Manager and Quality Control Manager on special quality projects
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate communication between Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Production, QC, Customers, ABS/DNV surveyors and Document Control regarding ITP discrepancies 
  • Support ABS, DNV, API, customer, and regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor inspection schedules and customer witness activities.
  • Track overdue quality documentation that is required to complete an ITP promptly
  • Support supplier audit planning and follow-up.
  • Assist with implementation of quality procedures.
  • Coordinate employee quality training.
  • Review manufacturing records for completeness before customer release.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis activities.
