Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to support a high-volume plastic injection molding operation. This role plays a key part in driving process stability, quality improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Location: Blue Springs, MO
  • Salary: $95,000 – $110,000
  • Relocation: Assistance available for the right candidate
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM OR 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Training: 2–4 weeks on 1st shift
Duties:
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime, scrap, and increase efficiency
  • Troubleshoot injection molding processes, tooling, and equipment
  • Optimize molding machines (up to 500 ton), automation, and robotics systems
  • Perform capability studies, process analysis, and DOE
  • Improve cycle times, material usage, and overall process performance
  • Collaborate closely with operators, quality, and process technicians
  • Support engineering changes and new product/process launches
  • Maintain and update work instructions and process documentation
  • Mentor and develop a young, growing team of Process Technicians

Qualifications:

  • Strong, hands-on experience in plastic injection molding
  • Proven success in reducing downtime, scrap, and improving efficiency
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of process capability, SPC, DOE, and root cause analysis
  • Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor and collaborating cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automation and robotics in molding environments
  • Automotive manufacturing background
  • Experience mentoring or training others

Note: A degree is not required—hands-on experience is the priority.
