Job Title: Senior Specialist - Payroll

What You Will Do:
The Senior Payroll Specialist is a pivotal role dedicated to ensuring the precise, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for all employees. This individual serves as a subject matter expert, resolving intricate payroll matters, and contributing actively to the continuous enhancement of payroll processes and systems. A key responsibility is maintaining adherence to all federal, state, and local tax laws and company policies, thereby fostering a smooth and efficient payroll operation. The position provides services to L'OREAL USA legal entities employee population in the following but not limited:
  • Payroll Processing
    1. Accurately and promptly process end-to-end payroll for a large volume of employees on designated pay cycles (e.g., bi-weekly, monthly).
  • Data Verification & Reconciliation
    1. Review, analyze, and verify payroll reports and documents for accuracy, implementing necessary adjustments or corrections through established procedures.
  • Complex Payroll Functions
    1. Manage and process intricate payroll elements including salary adjustments, special payments, employee deductions, garnishments, and retroactive payments.
  • Auditing & Problem Resolution
    1. Conduct internal audits of payroll data and processes to identify errors or inconsistencies and implement solutions to prevent future payroll challenges. Act as a primary point of contact for complex payroll inquiries from employees, HR, and management, offering expert advice and resolving issues.
  • Process Improvement & Training
    1. Assist with the development and implementation of new payroll procedures and policies and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Confidentiality
    1. Maintain the utmost confidentiality and security of sensitive payroll and employee information.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent working experience).
  • 2+ Years of Experience
