Summary: The purpose of this position is to carry out assigned duties, primarily focused on material handling within the thermal department but support all departmental needs as business demands require.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:   

  • Set up and operate primer machine, pouring machine, and debridge mill as required by production schedule.
  • Inspect out-going material and record dimensional checks on inspection sheets as mandated by inspection SOP.
  • Performs any duties related to set-up and operation of all thermal department machinery.
  • Cover overtime as needed within the department.

At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.88 -$21.35, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.   

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED (minimum)
  • Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience
  • Preferred: at least 1 year of experience operating a forklift or other power industrial vehicles.
  • Employee must be able to stand for a minimum eight (8) hour period but could be more as much as twelve (12) hours.
  • Job requires regular stooping, bending and kneeling.
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have experience working with hand tools.
  • Be vigilant about safety
  • Quality - conscious, oriented to excellence

Travel Requirements:

 

The travel required for this position is 1%.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

An individual may be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
