Qualifications often include a bachelor’s degree in business or theater management, but some begin this career with significant acting or production experience and work up to this management role. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are vital for this job.

What does a theater manager do?

A Theater Manager oversees the daily operations of a theater, ensuring that performances run smoothly and that both staff and patrons have a positive experience. Their responsibilities include managing ticket sales, coordinating with performers and technical crews, handling budgets, and ensuring the facility is well-maintained.
