  • Under broad direction, the position is responsible for managing a team of P&C Claims Representatives.
  • The Manager will be responsible for managing litigation and large loss claims with significant complexity and exposure.

  • Provides effective and strategic leadership guidance to claims professionals, communication of industry data and trends, and new legal issues as necessary.
  • Responsible for oversight and management of large loss claims.
  • Develops and enforces strategy for claims resolution.
  • Works with defense counsel as necessary to expedite claim resolution, and manage LAE.
  • Ensures all claims professionals demonstrate technical and customer service excellence.
  • Manages claim file reviews or quality control inspections; and manages correction actions as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, company best practices, corporate values, and communications.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, retention, training, and performance management of claims professionals.
  • Evaluates performance, prepares performance appraisals, and recommends salary actions in accordance with established corporate standards of performance and company policy.
  • Manages team of supervisors and field representatives who are primarily responsible for large loss claims.
  • Manages overtime and reporting, and manages utilization of company equipment or vehicles for team members.
  • Strengthens team performance by developing new initiatives, efficient processes and procedures to deliver exception claims service according to customer needs and industry trends.
  • Assists with ongoing enhancement and communication of Best Claims Practices, policies and procedures, training materials, and claim system "rules".
  • Manage and assign responsibilities on special projects as needed.
  • Works productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis, including Agency partnerships.
  • Responds positively to direction and feedback regarding performance.
  • Consistently maintains professional and appropriate demeanor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma Or equivalent combination of training/experience required  
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience required  

  • 5+ years progressively relevant leadership experience required  
  • 5+ years experience managing P&C claims required
  • Litigated claims handling experience
  • Business Auto claims expierance preffered   

  • Strong written and verbal communications, organizational and time management skills.

The expected salary range for this position is $103,741 - $149,552.68 . Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
