Job description

Reports To: General Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Director of Business, or Administrator (*if in production store – Production Store Manager).
Status: Non-exempt.
Function: The Warehouse Coordinator will oversee all warehouse and dock operations and maintain safety on the dock.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all warehouse and dock operations, maintaining order and safety in the warehouse and dock for all items being loaded or unloaded.
  • Supervise operation of forklift as necessary, making sure operators observe all safety regulations. Supervise operation of scales and proper recording of weights.
  • Supervise and/or handle all baling operations.
  • Direct all incoming material to proper staging areas, being sure saleable items are not thrown away.
  • Oversee all personnel and hold staff accountable for appropriate behavior and language on dock.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of all ARC trucks and loading of bale trucks.
  • Oversee beneficiaries assigned to work therapy in the warehouse and dock area.
  • Handle duties of Production/General Supervisor in their absence. May also fill in for Production Assistants, Expeditor or Dispatcher as needed.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • Manage flow of product in the warehouse.
  • Ensure that all product is placed in correct locations in the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of employees, identifying performance strengths and areas of development. Recommend training as necessary. Prepare written warnings as needed.
  • This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct and work habits.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator for Business.
  • When providing work therapy supervision, evaluations for each beneficiary need to be completed and turned into the Administrator(s) and ARC Counselors monthly for placement in the beneficiary's file.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Two (2) years transportation, warehouse, and/or loading dock experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
  • Completion of Forklift Certification is required.

  • Lifting Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
