Your Impact

The Pastry Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastries, baked goods, other desserts, and savory items for our café/coffee shop. This role requires a passion for baking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities

·       Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, muffins, scones, and other sweet and/or savory baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.

·       Prepare fillings, frostings, and other components for pastries.

·       Assist with developing new recipes and menu items as needed.

·       Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and food processors.

·       Ensure the quality and consistency of all baked goods.

·       Decorate and present pastries in an appealing manner.

·       Maintain a clean and organized work area, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.

·       Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

·       Assist with inventory management, stocking ingredients, and replenishing supplies as needed.

·       Package and label baked goods when needed.

·       Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills/Experience

·       Previous experience as a Pastry Prep Cook or in a similar baking role preferred.

·       Demonstrable knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.

·       Ability to follow recipes accurately.

·       Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

·       Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

·       Good communication and teamwork skills.

·       Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [Insert Weight, e.g., 25 pounds].

·       Food handler's certification preferred.

·       Work independently and overnight with minimal instruction.

Physical Requirements

·       Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

·       Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

·       Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment.

·       Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
