Summary of Job
To assist in pre-game, game time, and post-game responsibilities.
Position is 5-15 hours per week; evenings and weekends
6 - 8 positions open
Tasks Routinely Performed
Pre-Game
  1. Clean all public areas and locker rooms to make sure they ready for the game/event.
  2. Keep restroom supplies stocked.
  3. Keep all outside walkways/exits free of snow and Ice. Shovel and salt as needed.
  4. Put the two metal signs out by the east entrance to direct fans to the west entrance. Checking areas during, before and after events. (SPASH/UWSP games)
  5. Put out the game nets located by the big overhead door. Store the practice nets in the same location. Have net pegs with nets.
  6. Rope off the areas by the Zamboni room and skate shop.
  7. Fill the Zamboni. Zamboni must be filled before the game.
  8. Set up two eight-foot tables and four chairs by the west entrance and any additional chairs that may be needed depending on event need.

Game Time
  1. Move the nets for Zamboni driver between periods.
  2. Fill the Zamboni and melt snow after the resurface.
  3. Continue to keep all outside walkways/exits free of snow and Ice. Shovel and salt as needed.
  4. Assist the concession stand between periods as needed.
  5. Work as a team.

Post-Game
  1. Help direct patrons where to exit the building.
  2. Pick up litter around entire rink. Use the blowers/brooms to clean bleachers.
  3. Clean the warming and game rooms. (Sweep and mop)
  4. Clean tabletops.
  5. Empty all garbage cans.
  6. Clean all restrooms thoroughly, sinks, mirrors, etc.
  7. Clean locker rooms and lower-level restrooms.
  8. Clean east and west entrances. Vacuum rugs and check the outside of entrances as well.
  9. Sweep and mop all staircases and the landing by the wheelchair lift.
  10. Put away the tables and chairs by west entrance.
  11. Mop all bleachers, walkways, risers, and any spills.
  12. Run floor scrubber over the upper walkway.
  13. Mop the lower walkway.

Qualifications
  1. Must have and be able to demonstrate good public relation skills.
  2. Must be able to get along and work with fellow employees.
  3. Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
  4. Must be able to work in cold, damp, hot, and loud conditions.
  5. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
  6. Must be able to bend, twist, and squat occasionally for 6-8 hours per day and be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
  7. Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written directions.
  8. Must be able to continuously walk or stand for 4-8 hours.
  9. Must be able to clean up bodily fluids (blood, vomit, etc.) on and off ice.
  10. Must be proficient in mathematics.
  11. Must have the ability to work unsupervised.
