Job description

Precision Custom Components (PCC) is seeking an energetic 1st shift Rigger Helper to join our team. This is an on-site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in York, PA.
This position is part of a Collective Bargaining Unit (union). The work hours for this position are 1st shift - 7:30am - 3:55pm.
At PCC, you’ll be part of a skilled team that delivers high-quality, made-to-spec components where precision, reliability, and customer focus matter. Whether you’re driving results in the office or making them happen on the shop floor, you’ll collaborate across departments to solve problems, support efficient operations, and help ensure every component is completed safely, accurately, and with precision!
Essential Duties of the Rigging Helper:
  • Assist with general shop housekeeping, material staging, and work area preparation.
  • Assist experienced riggers with turning, moving, and positioning large components and materials weighing up to 150 tons.
  • Assist with the safe use of rigging equipment to support lifts, moves, and positioning of components under the direction of a qualified rigger.
  • Learn to operate material handling equipment, including cranes, pendant cranes, radio-controlled cranes, lift trucks, and shop mules, under supervision.
  • Learn to read and interpret basic rigging charts, load information, and related instructions.
  • Learn to properly install, remove, inspect, and use rigging equipment, including slings, hooks, chains, shackles, and other lifting devices.
Education/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools and general mechanical ability.
  • Forklift experience and crane experience preferred.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, large components, moving loads, and other manufacturing hazards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and outside transport personnel to coordinate safe and efficient material movement.
  • Must adhere to all safety requirements, safe work practices, and required personal protective equipment guidelines.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Detail oriented and able to make good decisions.
  • Must be a motivated person with the desire to learn and build knowledge and skills in the rigging trade.
  • Good attendance.
  • Flexibility is important and required; other duties as assigned.
  • Must have a current, valid US Driver’s License.
  • US citizenship is required
