The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs.

We're hiring a Retail Associate  to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park!

Job Summary:

We are looking for Retail Associates to stock, organize, inventory merchandise, handle returns and selling goods at the Oasis at Death Valley. This role attends to customers on the selling floor at all Retail Outlets as well as assisting retail leaders with golf events. The personality and professionalism of our retail team will instill confidence in our guests and will have a direct influence on the environment. Our mission is to provide legendary service to our guests visiting from all over the world, and your work is instrumental to our success.

The Details:Position Type: Full-time Year-round

Start Dates:  Mid-July

Pay: $17.20/hrSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Becomes fully qualified as register operator in regards to all retail transactions.
  • Maintains an accurate bank.
  • Assists all customers in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
  • Keeps designated work areas neat, clean, and properly stocked.
  • Obtains as much product information as possible in order to enlighten customers on items sold at all Retail Outlets.
  • Assist with golf events as assigned which includes; tee sheets, tee times, coordinating tournaments, cart maintenance/marshaling, and related aspects on the golf course.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have a neat and clean appearance as reflected in Employee Handbook grooming standards.
  • Must be available to work all shifts and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must possess or obtain a California Food Handler's Card within 30 days of hire. On-site training is available.
  • Must possess or obtain a TIPS certification for sellers of alcohol within 30 days of hire. On-site training is available.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Physically able to work standing for eight hours, and must have the endurance to function in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. up to shoulder height.
  • Must be able to withstand working in extreme outdoor summer temperatures.
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and grasp.
  • Will be required to work in a refrigerated walk-in cooler with temperatures between 35-45 degrees.
