Gas station attendants are employees who work at service stations, helping customers fuel their vehicles, process payments, and sometimes provide basic automotive services such as checking oil levels or cleaning windshields. They may also be responsible for keeping the station clean, restocking shelves, and handling convenience store sales. In addition to customer service, attendants are often required to follow safety protocols when handling fuel and to ensure the smooth operation of the station. Some stations are self-service, while others still employ attendants to assist customers directly.

To thrive as a Gas Station Attendant, core skills include basic math, cash handling, customer service, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, fuel pumps, and basic safety protocols is usually required.
