As an Mobile Auto Damage Estimator, you will play a key role in assessing vehicle damage directly in the field. You will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates in compliance with the standards of the Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA), company policies, and the requirements of our insurance partners.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your technical expertise, professional judgment, and ability to build trusted relationships with policyholders, repair facilities, body shops, and business partners. This position primarily serves the South Shore of Montreal region.


What You Will Accomplish With Us

As an External Automotive Estimator, you will be at the center of our mission. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Traveling throughout the assigned territory to inspect damaged vehicles.
  • Meeting with policyholders, repair facilities, body shops, and other stakeholders to evaluate damage and understand claim requirements.
  • Assessing the extent of damage, determining required repairs, and preparing estimates in accordance with GAA standards, company procedures, and insurer requirements.
  • Using industry-recognized estimating platforms, primarily Mitchell, to produce comprehensive and accurate estimates.
  • Requesting teardown inspections or supplementary assessments when necessary to confirm the full extent of damages.
  • Researching and validating the cost of parts, materials, and equipment required for repairs, including recycled or used parts when applicable.
  • Determining market value or replacement value in total-loss claims.
  • Providing claims adjusters, policyholders, repair facilities, and partners with the information and explanations required regarding estimates produced.
  • Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responding to inquiries, ensuring timely follow-up on files, and contributing to a professional customer experience.
  • Analyzing and managing customer concerns or complaints related to automotive repairs.
  • Meeting established service standards, turnaround times, and quality expectations.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring files remain up to date.
  • Performing any other related duties or special assignments requested by your immediate supervisor.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is recognized for technical expertise in collision repair, automotive estimating, and damage analysis.
  • Demonstrates excellent observation skills, sound judgment, and strong decision-making abilities.
  • Brings a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, autonomy, and accountability.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, diplomacy, and tact when interacting with customers, repair facilities, body shops, and business partners.
  • Has 3 to 5 years of experience in the automotive damage repair industry.
  • Has experience estimating automotive repair costs.
  • Has strong knowledge of passenger vehicles and, ideally, recreational vehicles.
  • Is proficient with Audatex, Mitchell, and AllData estimating software.
  • Holds a vocational diploma (DEP) in auto body repair, collision repair, or a related field, considered an asset.
  • Holds a Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA) estimator license, considered an asset.
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in French.
  • Holds a valid driver's license, has access to a personal vehicle, and is available for frequent travel within the assigned territory.
  • Is comfortable using technology and digital tools, including automotive estimating software, claims management systems, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.

Intermediate-level English proficiency is required, as the successful candidate will be expected to communicate regularly with English-speaking repair facilities, body shops, and other industry partners in order to explain estimates, respond to inquiries, and ensure proper file follow-up.
