Located on the white sandy beaches of the Andros Island, a Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Atlantic Undersea Test & Evaluation Center (AUTEC) is Arcata's newest partnership. AUTEC provides research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, analysis, and assessment, and fleet support capabilities for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive undersea weapon systems, and stewards existing and emerging technologies in support of undersea warfare for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.
Position Summary:
An Electrician performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation maintenance or repair of equipment for the generation distribution or utilization of electric energy. Work involves most of the following:
  • Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment;
  • Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • At least 5 years of related experience required.
  • Journeyman's license required; Power Plant, medium voltage 4160 experience required.
  • Valid passport and Driver's license required.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Secret security clearance preferred
