Job description

B2B Account Manager
Akron, OH (onsite + client visits)
We are seeking an experienced B2B Account Manager to manage and grow relationships with small and mid-sized business clients. This role will focus primarily on companies with fewer than 100 employees, helping business owners and decision-makers identify services and solutions that support their day-to-day operations and long-term goals.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in business-to-business sales and account management, is comfortable working directly with small business owners and senior decision-makers, and knows how to build lasting client relationships while identifying opportunities for account growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of small business accounts, primarily companies with fewer than 100 employees
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain a high level of responsiveness and customer service
  • Develop a strong understanding of each client's business, needs, challenges, and goals
  • Present and recommend business services and solutions based on client needs
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through additional services and solutions
  • Conduct regular client follow-up and relationship management
  • Support new business development efforts within the assigned market or territory
  • Maintain an active pipeline and track client activity, opportunities, and follow-up
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure a smooth client experience
  • Work toward individual and team goals related to client retention, account growth, and new business

Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of B2B sales, account management, client relationship management, or business development experience
  • Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses, ideally organizations with fewer than 100 employees
  • Experience selling or managing accounts involving business services, professional services, or other B2B solutions
  • Comfortable communicating directly with business owners, executives, and other decision-makers
  • Proven ability to build relationships, retain clients, and identify opportunities for account growth
  • Strong consultative sales and needs-assessment skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships and priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable working toward performance and revenue goals
  • Experience using a CRM or similar client management system preferred

Ideal Background
Candidates may come from a variety of B2B industries, including business services, payroll or HR services, financial services, insurance, telecommunications, technology, office services, professional services, or other environments focused on supporting small business clients.
We're looking for someone who is relationship-driven, consultative, proactive, and comfortable owning the client relationship from initial conversation through ongoing account management and growth.
