Job description

Bell-Textron Inc. is seeking a Gear, Cut & Grind technician to support our manufacturing operations at our Drive Systems Center at out Drive System Center location in Grand Prairie, Texas.  

Work Performed:  

  • Sets up and operates all types of gear manufacturing equipment including gear cutters, gear grinders, gear shavers, lapping machines, etc., to produce a wide variety of gears and splines including spiral bevel, helical and hypoid gears.
  • Setups and work must be held to extremely close tolerances.
  • Advises and assists in development of new gears and gear cutting processes. 
  • Tests and checks gears using gear testing and checking machines and equipment.
  • Sets up and/or performs all grinding on case hardened surfaces.

Tools & Equipment Used: 

  • All types of gear manufacturing, testing, and checking equipment, machinists' hand tools, precision measuring instruments
