Job description

Position Overview:
The Linen Houseperson is responsible for handling, issuing and processing all linens, textiles and supplies and supporting Housekeeping operations, ensuring superior service to all patrons and guests of the Hotel/Casino. The House Person will conform to all Housekeeping standards. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Mount Airy Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control standards and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Promotes positive guest, employee and public relations at all times.
  • Responsible for the quality, consistency and presentation of all products and services delivered to guests.
  • Responsible for the issuance, handling and processing of linens, textiles and supplies.
  • Maintains linen and supplies storage facilities in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Prepares linens and textiles for laundering and receives finished linens from laundry service.
  • Inspects linens and textiles for quality and identifies damages, promptly reports damages to supervision.
  • Counts all inventories and reports any discrepancies to supervision.
  • Assists with other Housekeeping functions.
  • Participates in daily inspections with supervision as necessary.
  • Completes reports as required.
  • Assists in other projects and handles job tasks as deemed appropriate.
  • Attends meetings as necessary.
  • Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies and procedures, including OSHA standards and regulations.

Essential Job Requirements:
  • Must be able to perform each of the essential functions and responsibilities satisfactorily.
  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of Hospitality/Housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Possesses excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal qualities.
  • Flexible to work any scheduled shifts and/or days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to count and measure cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Gaming License, if necessary.

  • Adequate manual dexterity, including hand and wrist movement to operate equipment, perform functions and engage in lifting, pushing or pulling up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Other Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to handle exposure to areas where smoking is permitted.
  • Must be able to handle exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to read labels.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Must have oral and aural acuity and ability to respond to cues.
