Kenner, Louisiana: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an AI Vision Robotics Engineer to develop AI-powered vision systems and robotic automation solutions for commercial laundry textile sorting applications. This position designs computer vision and machine learning systems that identify, classify, track, and sort textiles using NVIDIA AI hardware and edge computing technologies. The AI Vision Robotics Engineer collaborates with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and system performance.

Essential Duties
  • Develop AI-based vision systems for textile identification, classification, and robotic sorting applications.
  • Design, train, test, and optimize machine learning and computer vision models for textile recognition, stain detection, material classification, and item tracking.
  • Utilize NVIDIA hardware platforms including Jetson devices, CUDA-enabled GPUs, TensorRT, and related AI acceleration technologies.
  • Develop and deploy edge AI applications for industrial laundry and material-handling environments.
  • Integrate machine vision systems with robotic arms, conveyors, sensors, and automated equipment.
  • Assist with camera selection, calibration, image acquisition, and vision system optimization.
  • Collect, label, organize, and manage image datasets for AI model training and validation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to support system integration and product development.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, validation, and performance tuning of AI and robotic systems.
  • Support prototype development, proof-of-concept initiatives, and emerging technology projects.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to increase accuracy, reliability, and throughput.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, engineering reports, and project records.
  • Stay current with advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, machine vision, and industrial automation technologies.
  • Follow all company safety policies and engineering standards.
  • Travel as required to support project implementation, testing, or customer needs.
Requirements / Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in AI, robotics, machine vision, automation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with AI development frameworks and machine learning tools such as ROS/ROS2.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, TensorRT, or comparable AI acceleration technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to solve complex technical challenges using data-driven methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, laboratory, and prototype development environments.
  • Frequent interaction with robotic equipment, industrial cameras, sensors, conveyors, and automated systems.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in designated areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to travel periodically to customer sites, suppliers, testing facilities, or industry events as needed.
