Job description

Prudential Overall Supply, an industry leader in uniform and textile rental services since 1932, is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of commercial vehicles to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

What You'll Do
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial trucks and fleet equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet company, state, federal, and DOT compliance requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Communicate repair status, maintenance needs, and recommendations to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant shop environment.
  • Promote safe work practices and high-quality workmanship.
  • Assist with emergency repairs and other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
  • Travel overnight when required to support fleet operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial fleet vehicles.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Truck/Trailer Mechanic.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle compliance requirements.
  • Experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems preferred.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
  • Must possess the tools necessary to perform job duties.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Military maintenance experience is highly valued.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related field preferred but not required.
  • ASE certifications are a plus.
