Job Summary
The Business Banker position sets the tone for each client experience since they are the first point of contact for our customers and their connection to many transactions that they can initiate while visiting the banking center. They must be able to adapt to customer needs, complete service transactions, open accounts, and refer customers to other bank employees for additional support when needed. They provide exceptional customer service while having conversations and building relationships. Our Business Banker communicate with all types of customers and work as part of a team to help customers succeed financially.
In this role, you will:
  • Support customer engagement by processing teller transactions, consumer, and commercial new accounts, and making appropriate introductions to loan officers.
  • Complete operational activities while minimizing risks under established policies.
  • Perform routine transactional, operational, and customer support tasks efficiently through knowledge of bank procedures, products, and partners across the organization.
  • Receive direction from managers and exercises judgment within defined policies and procedures.
  • Escalate questions and issues to more professional roles.
  • Interact with customers and individuals to demonstrate care, build relationships, and complete requested transactions.
  • Identify information and services to meet customers' financial needs

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Ability to educate and connect customers to technology and share the value of mobile banking options
  • Interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and team members.

  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Identify potential fraud/risky accounts and take appropriate action to prevent loss.

  • Ability to exercise judgment, raise questions to management, and adhere to policy guidelines
  • Proficient with proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Evaluates needs of potential clients and offers appropriate financial products and services.
  • Utilizes knowledge of required paperwork and systems to open new accounts; prepares documents accurately.
  • Assist customers with being able to access their safe deposit box.
  • Process and sort incoming mail, night depository, and mail transactions.
  • Responsible for following all opening and closing banking centers.
  • Support the overall banking center referral efforts. Management establishes goals for such items as Debit cards, direct deposit, online banking, or referrals for product and treasury management services bank products.

Job Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • This position requires working knowledge of Word and Excel; must be able to type and use a ten-key.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and quickly.
  • Strong math aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when requested and Saturdays.
  • The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and sit/stand for long periods of time
