The Integration Tester plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, accuracy, and reliability of Navy Mutual's enterprise applications and system integrations. This position is responsible for designing, executing, and continuously improving testing strategies across a complex technology environment that includes policy administration systems, customer-facing applications, CRM platforms, integration services, and other interconnected business systems.

The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, developers, project managers, business analysts, vendors, and subject matter experts to validate system functionality, ensure data integrity, and support successful software releases. This role requires a strong understanding of integration testing methodologies, enterprise application testing, and quality assurance best practices.

The Integration Tester will serve as a champion of quality by leading testing efforts across multiple projects while helping drive confidence in Navy Mutual's systems through thorough planning, execution, reporting, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Testing
  • Lead testing and quality assurance efforts for Navy Mutual software applications, with a primary focus on the Policy Administration System and its integrations with other enterprise platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Perform and coordinate multiple testing disciplines, including:
    • System Testing
    • Integration Testing
    • End-to-End (E2E) Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • Smoke Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Verify that software releases meet functional, technical, and business requirements before deployment.
  • Support production validation activities and provide Go/No-Go recommendations during software releases.
  • Validate data flows and business processes across interconnected applications and platforms.
  • Test APIs, file transfers, middleware integrations, customer-facing applications, and other enterprise system interfaces.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across systems.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate defect resolution with technical and business teams.
Test Automation & Release Support
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop, maintain, and enhance automated testing capabilities.
  • Execute and analyze automated regression testing suites.
  • Participate in release planning, release readiness reviews, and deployment support activities.
  • Provide testing estimates and assess testing scope, effort, and release risks for upcoming initiatives.
  • Identify potential release impacts and communicate risks to project stakeholders.
Defect Management & Problem Resolution
  • Analyze application issues, defects, and unexpected system behavior.
  • Document, track, and manage defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate resolution efforts with developers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Validate defect fixes and ensure successful implementation before production deployment.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Operations, Accounting, Compliance, Customer Service, and external vendors throughout project lifecycles.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, and implementation planning sessions.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and outcomes to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
  • Present testing results, recommendations, and release readiness assessments to leadership and project teams.
  • Evaluate and enhance QA methodologies, testing standards, and testing documentation practices.
  • Recommend process improvements that increase testing effectiveness and software quality.
  • Support audits, quality reviews, and post-implementation assessments.
  • Help establish and maintain best practices for enterprise testing and quality assurance.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Review business and technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and testability.
  • Adapt priorities and testing activities to support changing business needs and release schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, systems analysis, or enterprise application support.
  • Experience testing enterprise business applications and complex system integrations.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, test scripts, and testing documentation.
  • Experience performing:
    • Integration Testing
    • End-to-End Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Smoke Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • API Testing
  • Experience supporting or executing automated regression testing.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the financial services, insurance, or annuity industry.
  • Experience working with life insurance policy administration systems.
  • Experience testing CRM platforms, customer portals, middleware solutions, and enterprise business applications.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and automated testing tools.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), release management processes, and quality assurance best practices.
  • FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) and/or ALMI (Associate, Life Management Institute) designation preferred.
