Job description

Role: Validation / Performance Testing Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI | Onsite
Duration: 12 Months
Industry: Automotive / Vehicle Engineering

We are seeking a hands-on Validation / Performance Testing Engineer to support vehicle integration, system validation, and performance development for assigned vehicle programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Support vehicle fleet readiness, software/hardware updates, data collection, and mule vehicle troubleshooting.
  • Validate vehicle functions including Connected Services, Vehicle Access, Start, and Security systems.
  • Develop and execute vehicle/system-level test plans, validation activities, road tests, and performance evaluations.
  • Track functional objectives, identify issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Own DVP&R planning, execution, reporting, issue tracking, and closure across cross-functional teams.
  • Support NVH target development, test planning, and validation with test and performance engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with engineering groups, suppliers, styling teams, plants, and test facilities to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide technical status updates, documentation, presentations, and milestone tracking.
  • Support CFD/system analysis and participate in domestic and international testing or supplier activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Automotive, or related Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Strong hands-on automotive/vehicle testing and troubleshooting experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter, Siemens NX, and VisProfessional Viewer.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel.
  • Shainin/DFSS Green or Black Belt is a plus.
