Founded in 1991, Testa Produce, Inc. is the successor entity to the original Dominick Testa and Sons.Testa Produce's roots date back to 1912, with founder Dominick Testa selling stalks of celery door-to-door out of a basket. The creation of the Chicago Terminal Produce Market provided a central selling location for years. As the restaurant industry evolved, so did Testa Produce. In 2011, Testa expanded yet again and moved into its new home: a 91,300 square foot facility to accommodate an ever-growing list of restaurant, hotel and food service customers.
Essential Functions:
  • Direct and manage day-to-day PM warehouse functions, order selection, and staging using WMS and RF scanning systems.
  • Oversee night loading assignments, ensuring proper pallet building, weight distribution, and adherence to USDA stacking guidelines (e.g., separating conventional vs. organic products).
  • Ensure strict product rotation using FIFO criteria to optimize inventory flow, minimize damage, mis-picks, and product waste.
  • Support and collaborate with the PM Dispatch and Transportation teams on daily tasks, route staging, and system-shipping orders to ensure accurate, on-time departures.
  • Reconcile orders prior to shipment, audit loads for accuracy, and maintain warehouse organization for maximum shipping accessibility.
  • Enforce Good Warehouse Practices (GWPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and strict food safety guidelines.
  • Inspect outbound vehicles and temperature-sensitive areas to prevent contamination and maintain strict cold-chain compliance.
  • Direct PM warehouse sanitation efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility.
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture in partnership with the Safety Department, conducting routine inspections, associate observations, and accident investigations to determine root cause.
  • Oversee material handling equipment (MHE) usage and maintenance, ensuring team members operate forklifts, pallet jacks, lift-gates, and ramps safely and correctly.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, and OSHA/DOT standards.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage PM warehouse personnel, fostering high morale, top performance, and accountability.
  • Help maintain contingency protocols to eliminate business disruptions during night shifts.
  • Maintain, organize, written employee training, performance improvement guidance, and discipline records in coordination with Human Resources and General Counsel & CAO.

  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment, with at least 1- 2 year's experience in a supervisory/management role.
  • Experience in food, produce, grocery, or perishable-goods distribution strongly preferred.
  • Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily, bilingual a plus.

Compensation:
  • $ 85,000 - $100,000/Year (Based on experience)

Schedule:
  • Sunday - Friday (Off on Saturdays)
  • Start Time: 6:00pm
