Senior Quality Engineer
Job Description:
The qualified candidate will be responsible for driving and analyzing customer returns to determine the root cause of their failure. Document and maintain analysis information and results and provide comprehensive reports to customers. Extensive collaboration with the internal team (Design, Applications, Product/Test, process engineering, and Operations) as well as the Failure analysis lab is essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform failure investigation and corrective action for customer related failures, document and maintain analysis data and facilitate customer quality & reliability interactions through complete analysis FA (8D) reports.
  • Plan and process customer returns, schedule & conduct the analysis from start to finish.
  • Work with the circuit design, process, product/test engineers throughout the BU in performing DC electrical testing, circuit analysis/trouble shooting, fault isolation, and micro-probing, etc. (as required)
  • Benchmark failure analysis methods, systems, and operations at other semiconductor manufacturers. Act as a facilitator of continuous improvement, working on proactive and preventative changes.
  • Implement appropriate preventive measures such as control plans and Quality monitoring are in place to ensure there are no significant quality spills with customers.
  • Monitor and participate in New Product Development projects including performing quality evaluations.
  • Identify and initiate actions that will result in continuous improvement of the Quality System, products, and processes.

Qualifications:
  • B.S./M.S. preferred - in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, or material science.
  • 5+ years' experience in Quality assurance in semiconductor industry with good knowledge of failure analysis.
  • Understanding of semiconductor fabrication, inspection, assembly, and test methods. Knowledge of semiconductor processing and analysis equipment is desirable.
  • Ability to take a schematic, layout, and failure signature of a device and take all steps necessary to identify the failing circuitry is preferred.
  • Experience with handling semiconductor wafers, using microscopes, probe stations, test equipment, and curve tracing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAM, SEM, FIB cross-sectioning, and de-processing is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and simultaneously on multiple tasks with flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Understanding of the key elements of Reliability Engineering and Qualification procedures (MIL_STD, JEDEC, IPC, etc.) and problem-solving methodology.
  • Excellent analytical skills and good written and verbal communications skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated, hard-working, fast learner and well-organized
  • Highly responsible, a good team player with good presentation skills
  • Proficiency with common office computer software programs such as MS-Office

The Salary Range for this position is $$70,000 - $110,000.Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, includingbut not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education,and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM's discretion, subject to individual and company performance.
